Observe first, change one setting only, apply it, and repeat the same controlled workload. Record whether the requested value was actually accepted and whether Windows, firmware or vendor software restores it later. Keep automatic startup disabled until the profile is proven stable.

Test more than a short benchmark. Light workloads, idle transitions, sleep and resume, battery operation and ordinary applications can expose instability that a heavy CPU test misses. Return toward the stock value after a freeze, restart, blue screen, calculation error or unexpected performance loss.

How to Interpret the Result

A lower temperature or higher score is useful only when the workload, power mode and ambient conditions match the baseline. ThrottleStop can expose limits and adjust some supported controls, but it cannot repair inadequate cooling, a failing adapter or a firmware restriction.
